After the sedan, it's now the SUV variant's turn to hit the market. Toyota unveiled the Crown Signia earlier this week, and it's safe to say the model did not go unnoticed. This is the first SUV from the Signia division.
The first question that comes to mind is certainly about the position of the Crown Signia in Toyota's lineup, which already offers a plethora of SUVs. The model fits between the Rav4 and Highlander SUVs. In a way, it takes the place of the Venza. However, it is positioned among the brand's most expensive vehicles with a starting price of $61,081. It's important to understand that the Toyota Crown Signia offers an experience that sits between a mainstream model and a prestige vehicle.
A Luxurious Model
The Crown Signia exudes finesse and elegance at first glance. It is a model that displays a certain presence, and all its accompanying elements are refined, from the lighting to the wheels.
The interior is sumptuous and modern. The quality of the finish is breathtaking, to say the least. The Japanese automaker's SUV features a digital dashboard and an advanced multimedia system, both showcased on a 12.3-inch screen. The Crown Signia also offers an 11-speaker JBL audio system.
The Japanese SUV comes in five exterior colors and two interior colors. It is also among the most spacious models in its category with a trunk offering a maximum capacity of 1,872 liters.
Standard Hybrid
True to its approach, Toyota offers only one mechanical option for the Crown Signia, which is a small 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine. This engine is accompanied by two electric motors, bringing its total power to 240 horsepower. Despite this, the Japanese automaker's SUV manages to maintain an average fuel consumption of 6.2 L/100 km, making it one of the most fuel-efficient vehicles in its category.
The first units are expected to arrive at dealerships in the coming months. The model is anticipated to be very successful despite its price.
